Physical Therapy Travel Job Search
Once you are done training to be a physical therapist and have had your chance to spend some time working and gaining experience you may find yourself wondering what direction you would like your career to head in. Fortunately for you as a physical therapist you have some choices in how and where you would like to work. You can choose to work in a tradition brick and mortar job or you can choose to search for a physical therapy travel job that will take you all over the country and allow you to combine your love for your career with a love for adventure and new sites. Physical therapy travel jobs are not for everyone, they require you to move every 13 weeks or so, sometimes less and sometimes long distances as the next job can be anywhere in the country. For some people that is what they might consider a dream job though and if you are in that category you should begin your physical therapy job search by checking with the agencies that specialize in this type of work. Once you contact the agency they will want a copy of your resume and will want to know what states you are licensed to work in, part of your physical therapy travel job search should be to identify where you would like to travel and be sure that you are qualified to work in those states.
Each state's licensing requirements are different so do not assume that you are qualified to work in any particular state. The agency can help you identify which states you are qualified to work in and can help you get the licensing and any other requirements you need to work in other states. As you search for a physical therapy travel job keep in mind that you will be able to secure benefits such as health insurance, disability, life insurance, and saving plans through the agency that you decide to work with. Most people assume that because of the transient nature of this type of job that you will have to do without the typical benefits a tradition physical therapy job can offer.
This is simply not so, most agencies can offer these benefits along with travel expenses, housing and competitive pay that is usually much higher than traditional jobs. A search for a physical therapy travel job should include ensuring that each of these benefits are included if the agency you are seeking employment through does not offer them then it is time to look on to one that does. One thing is for certain, the medical field needs physical therapists and there are not enough to go around so if you are a good therapist that you can afford to be choosey and get what you want in your physical therapy travel job. If you want to search for a physical therapy travel job your first stop should be with PT Job Board they offer a competitive package and have access to the nation's largest database of physical therapy jobs.
